CAMP PROTOCOLS IN RESPONSE TO COVID-19:
Per state mandates, camp groups may include up to 20 children. Camp groups at the Children's Museum will include no more than 12 children and no more than 4 museum staff members in any given week.
Social distancing will be encouraged with the understanding that enforcing social distancing in young children has its limitations.
There will be no additional visitors, parents, or volunteers permitted at the Museum.
All staff will wear masks.
Adults will wear masks when dropping off and picking up their children from the Museum. Upon entering the museum, they will use provided hand sanitizer. Caregivers will remain in the gift shop/front desk area of the Museum while a staff member collects their child and their belongings.
Sufficient supplies will ensure that campers do not share high-touch materials (e.g glue sticks or scissors), but with the understanding that enforcing this rule in young children has its limitations.
Any attendees joining from out of state or who have recently traveled must quarantine for 14 days before attending camp.
Frequently touched surfaces will be disinfected regularly throughout the day. The entire Museum will be disinfected at the end of each day.
Hand sanitizer will be available to and required of every person upon entering and exiting the Museum. Handwashing will occur frequently for staff members and campers over the course of the day.
All children and staff will be screened for fever upon arrival at camp each day using a touchless thermometer. Temperatures will be recorded on sign-in sheets.
The Children's Museum will not provide any food for consumption. Children must bring lunch, snacks, and a water bottle each day. Staff will refill children's water bottles using the kitchen sink if/when needed.
Campers will be given designated areas to safely social distance while eating.
No staff displaying symptoms of COVID-19 will be permitted to work at the Museum and no staff will report to the Museum within 72 hours of exhibiting a fever.
If a camper or staff member tests positive for COVID-19, camp will shut down for a period of at least 72 hours for full disinfection of the Museum following all CDC protocols.
